Getting Here
βΌThe entrance is on Viale Vaticano, not from St. Peter's Square.
- Metro: Line A, Ottaviano station (10 min walk)
- Bus: Lines 49, 23, 271, 982 stop near the entrance
- Tram: Line 19 (Piazza Risorgimento stop)
- Taxi: Ask for Musei Vaticani entrance, not St. Peter's
- On foot: 20 minutes from Termini via Piazza Navona
Dress Code
βΌThe Vatican is a religious site. Visitors must cover knees and shoulders.
- No sleeveless tops or bare shoulders
- No shorts above the knee
- Skirts and dresses must reach below the knee
- Scarves available for loan at the entrance
- Clothing rules are strictly enforced at the Sistine Chapel

- Camera (no flash in the Sistine Chapel)

Accessibility
βΌThe Vatican Museums are largely accessible to visitors with reduced mobility. Lifts and ramps are available throughout most of the museum circuit. Wheelchair loan is available free of charge at the cloakroom. Visitors with disabilities are entitled to the reduced ticket price; one companion enters free.
Food & Services
βΌInside the museums there is a self-service restaurant, a cafΓ©, and several vending areas. There is also a cloakroom, left-luggage service, a bookshop, and a gift store. Large bags and luggage must be left at the cloakroom. Photography is permitted throughout except in the Sistine Chapel (no flash anywhere).
