The conditions governing use of this website and purchase of Vatican Museums tickets.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing this website or purchasing tickets through it, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use this website or purchase tickets through it.
2. Ticket Purchases
All tickets sold through this website are subject to the following conditions:
- Tickets are valid only for the date and time slot specified at the time of booking
- The ticket holder must present valid photo ID matching the name on the booking at the museum entrance
- Tickets are non-transferable and non-refundable once purchased
- The Vatican Museums reserve the right to refuse entry without refund in the case of misuse or falsification of tickets
- Entry may be denied if the visitor does not comply with the dress code (shoulders and knees must be covered)
3. Pricing and Fees
All prices shown on this website are in Euros (€) and include applicable taxes. An online booking fee of €5 per transaction applies to all purchases made through this website. This fee covers the Skip-the-Line reservation service and is non-refundable.
Reduced and free ticket categories are subject to verification at the entrance. Failure to provide appropriate documentation (e.g. student ID, disability certification) will result in the full adult price being charged.
4. Cancellation and Refunds
Tickets purchased through this website are non-refundable. In the exceptional case that the Vatican Museums are forced to close on your booked date due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g. official mourning, emergency closure), you will be offered the option to reschedule your visit or receive a full refund.
If you believe you are entitled to a refund under exceptional circumstances, contact us at [email protected] within 7 days of your visit date, including your booking reference number.
5. Photography and Filming
- Photography for personal use is permitted throughout the museums, except in the Sistine Chapel
- Flash photography is prohibited everywhere in the museums
- Commercial photography and filming require prior written authorisation from the Vatican Museums administration
- Photography of works under copyright (certain modern art pieces) may be restricted
6. Conduct on Premises
All visitors are expected to behave respectfully, given the religious and cultural significance of the Vatican. The following are prohibited:
- Loud noise or disruptive behaviour, particularly in the Sistine Chapel
- Eating or drinking in the galleries (designated areas only)
- Touching artworks or displays unless explicitly invited to do so
- Bringing large bags or luggage (cloakroom service is available)
- Use of mobile phones for calls inside the Sistine Chapel
The Vatican Museums reserves the right to remove any visitor who fails to comply with these rules, without refund.
7. Intellectual Property
All content on this website — including text, images, logos, and design — is the property of the Vatican Museums or its licensors and is protected by copyright. Reproduction, distribution or commercial use of any content without prior written permission is prohibited.
8. Limitation of Liability
